Process engineering is the study and application of natural laws and principles that allow people to transform

Mechanical Process Engineering
The separation or production of heterogeneous mixtures of substances and the crushing or joining of solids are
tasks of mechanical process engineering.
Chemistry often supplies the required substances in a mixture with auxiliary materials that were required for
production or with non-usable reaction products. If the required substance forms its phase, it can be separated
mechanically from the substance mixture.
Thermal Process Engineering
Thermal processes are required for the separation of homogeneous mixtures of substances. These include single
or multiple distillations, rectification, extraction, absorption, and adsorption.
These processes are often carried out in packed columns. The separation of mixtures of substances with the help of
membranes is also assigned to thermal process engineering.
Bioprocess engineering uses metabolic processes in microorganisms and plants to convert substances. The
processes taking place are summarized under the term fermentation. Mainly the metabolism of yeast, bacteria,
algae, and the effect of enzymes are used in bioprocess engineering.
